Blockspan
by Luigi53
Builders who need exact sizes for a build area can use Blockspan, which measures the space between two marked block positions.
What it does
Blockspan is a client-side mod for Fabric and Forge that helps builders measure and color-code build areas directly in the world. The player selects two block positions, and an in-world box with labels shows the length, width, height and volume of the selected area, along with its distance and center point coordinates. Measurements are inclusive, following Minecraft's own convention, so both endpoint blocks are counted on each axis.
The workflow starts by looking at a block and pressing R to set Point A, then looking at another block and pressing R again to set Point B. Ctrl + R force-sets a point at the targeted position, and Shift + R sets the next point. Areas can be saved, renamed, given a color, hidden or shown, and deleted from the Blockspan menu, which opens with V. Saved areas are stored only in the local client configuration, so they never reach a server.
Blockspan is released under the MIT License and is not open source. It runs on the client alone, so servers and other players do not need it. Fabric API is required, and the mod is published for 26.1.2 only, with latest files for Fabric and Forge dated 2026-05-23.
