Blocksistency

by muhammadrizo

Blocksistency fills gaps in Minecraft's block sets by adding the logical variants builders expect, and it changes how several vanilla recipes yield output.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.8 – 1.21.11

What it does

The mod completes the block sets for Red Sandstone and Nether Bricks, and adds Crimson Red Nether Bricks and Warped Nether Bricks. Each supported block set gets the variants a builder would look for, and the full list of block sets and crafting recipes is documented on the project wiki. More block sets are planned, according to the author.

Several vanilla recipes are modified so that a single craft returns more items. Crafting a button yields 4 items rather than 1, a door 6 rather than 3, and a fence 4 rather than 3, while fence gates produce 2 instead of 1. Hanging signs and shelves are crafted from planks instead of stripped logs.

Blocksistency is a Fabric mod for client and server, so the server and every player need it. It requires Fabric API, and files cover game versions 1.21.8 – 1.21.11 under the MIT License, with the source code published as open source. Each world can switch the bundled datapacks on or off, and both start out active.

Key features

  1. Completed block sets

Red Sandstone and Nether Bricks sets gain the missing variants, including Crimson Red and Warped Nether Bricks.

  2. Higher crafting yields

Buttons, doors, fences, signs, stairs, trapdoors and pressure plates return more items per craft than in vanilla.

  3. Toggleable datapacks

The built-in datapacks that control these changes can be switched on or off for each world.

  4. Cobbled block drops

A setting decides whether newly added cobbled blocks drop their base block, and turning it off still leaves the Stonecutter recipe available.

How it compares

Full comparison

Logical Trapdoor Recipe is a Fabric mod for 1.21.10 that is server required with the client optional, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and is not open source. More Nether Bricks is a Fabric client and server mod for 1.21.4 – 1.21.11 under the MIT License that is not open source, so it covers the same Nether Bricks area without the broader recipe changes.

Questions

Does Blocksistency need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is required and must be installed alongside Blocksistency on Fabric.

Does the server need Blocksistency?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Can the datapacks be turned off for one world?

Yes. The built-in datapacks are toggled per world, and both are enabled by default.
