What it does

BlahajASM is a fork of CASM that focuses on lowering RAM use, which matters most in larger modpacks, and adds several other performance changes and bug fixes to Minecraft 1.12.2. Its author set out to keep the feature set of FermiumASM while dropping FermiumBooter, a dependency the author disliked. The changes include byte code manipulation of the game and significant reworking of the code inherited from CensoredASM.

The fork also removes the built-in Spark profiler, which conflicted with the updated fork Spark Unforged, and rebrands the user-facing logging to BlahajASM. Its mcmod.info now credits the fork author and points to a new update URL with a new icon. The project is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 only, is open source, and needs no other mod to run. Because it is incompatible with VintageFix and TexFix, their functions are improved and added directly inside the mod instead.

BlahajASM runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files exist for Forge alone, and the only game version with builds is 1.12.2, where the latest file is 5.32, published on 2026-05-05. The first release dates from 2024-08-10.
