Bismuth
by The Omen Den
Bismuth, published by The Omen Den, is a Fabric client mod that changes how colors and biome blending are rendered in the game.
What it does
Bismuth is a client-side mod for Fabric. It is listed under the Cursed and Utility categories and changes how colors and biome blending are drawn on screen. Only the player's own game needs it, so a server can run without it and players join without installing anything extra.
The mod requires Cloth Config API, Fabric API, Indium and Sodium. Sodium and Indium together supply the rendering base that Bismuth builds on, and Cloth Config API and Fabric API supply the configuration and loader hooks. Every one of these must be installed next to Bismuth.
Bismuth's latest Fabric file is 0.1.9 for 1.19.4, released on 2024-09-27. The project was first published on 2023-09-04 and last updated on the same date as the latest file. The code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, so it is open source, and public source and issue tracker links are available.
Key features
Custom color rendering
The mod replaces the default color handling for affected blocks and surfaces, giving the world a different palette.
Biome blending
Adjacent biomes blend their colors across borders, which is handled through the Sodium blending registry.
Sodium integration
Bismuth registers its blending rules with Sodium, so the color work runs inside the rendering pipeline Sodium provides.
Indium compatibility
The mod depends on Indium for the rendering hooks it uses, so Indium must be present for the color changes to apply.
