Biome Vote Swamp
by EMD123
Biome Vote Swamp reworks the swamp biome to match the look Mojang showed in a 2019 video, with mangrove trees, frogs and leaves that differ from the vanilla swamp.
What it does
The mod replaces the vanilla swamp layout so that oak trees in swamps give way to mangrove trees, shaped to follow the 2019 video. The regular swamp stays close to vanilla, with frogs that have a different model and colors. Frog variants are tied to the biome they spawn in, with cold and warm frogs appearing in their matching regions, and frogs prefer moss blocks, clay and mangrove leaves. The froglight mechanics stay unchanged, and farm animals spawn as they did before.
Frogs can spawn in river biomes, and cold frogs spawn rarely in frozen rivers. Leaf colors in swamps follow the mangrove swamp palette. Lush caves are provided through Lithostitched, which the mod uses for the biome placement and must be installed beside it. Biome Vote Swamp runs on the server, so players can join without installing it, though clients may add it. It is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 11 release versions, 1.20.5 – 1.21.8, under the Apache License 2.0, and it is not open source.
Key features
Mangrove swamps
Oak trees in swamps are replaced with mangrove trees shaped to match the 2019 Mojang video.
Frog variants by biome
Cold and warm frog variants spawn in the biomes that match them, with cold frogs appearing in frozen rivers.
Frog food preferences
Frogs prefer moss blocks, clay and mangrove leaves, and jump toward those blocks when they are nearby.
Swamp colors
Leaf colors across swamps follow the mangrove swamp palette, so the biome reads as one set.
Vanilla frog-free swamp option
The regular swamp stays close to vanilla, so the mangrove swamps are the only major change to the terrain.

Back in 2019, Mojang published this video on what the swamp update would look like. But as everyone knows this is not what we got in 1.19. The regular swamp was left pretty much unchanged, frogs have a different model and different colors that barely resemble a typical frog, and mangrove trees look completely…
