BetterGrassify swaps the vanilla grass and snow textures for OptiFine's Fancy and Fast better grass rendering, on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.
What it does
Grass blocks and the grass sides of dirt-covered blocks are redrawn with the Fancy and Fast better grass styles from OptiFine. Without running OptiFine, a player on the listed loaders can get that look from this mod instead.
Fabric API and Forgified Fabric API are required, and Cloth Config API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) are optional. Conquest Reforged requires this mod. Client-side only, it is published for 1.19.3 – 26.3, with snapshot builds included, under the Apache License 2.0, which is open source.
Key features
Fancy and Fast grass
Two rendering styles recreate the grass looks found in OptiFine, selectable depending on how much detail a player wants.
Snow and grass sides
Snow-covered grass and the grass sides of dirt blocks follow the same rendering rules as the top surfaces.
Textured dirt edges
Dirt blocks with grass on top show a grass edge along their sides, drawn in the selected style for a consistent look across terrain.
