BetterSprint is a Fabric client mod that changes how sprint toggling works in Minecraft, adding a status display and keeping the toggle state across restarts.
What it does
BetterSprint improves Minecraft's sprint toggle by showing the current sprint state on the HUD and saving that state so it persists across restarts. Pressing G turns sprinting on by default, and the built-in Toggle Sprint binding in the Movement category of Key Binds can be turned off through the BetterSprint entry. Auto sprinting stops when the forward key is released while toggle mode is on, which keeps the sprint behavior predictable.
The indicator is configurable: its horizontal and vertical position, its size, a drop shadow for readability and a semi-transparent box drawn behind the text can all be set. The config screen opens through Mod Menu under BetterSprint, Configure. The mod requires Fabric API, Mod Menu and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) and runs on Fabric, with files for 1.21.10 – 26.1.1 and the latest file 1.0-26.1 for 26.1.1, released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only; it is open source and the environment is client-side only.
