Better Sleep
by Bodebojo
Better Sleep changes how a night passes on multiplayer servers, letting players set a sleep status, receive weather-specific sleep messages and see time advance visually.
What it does
Players who go to bed receive messages tailored to the weather, whether it is clear, rainy or thundering, so everyone knows when the night can be skipped. A player can also set a sleep status that tells others they do not want the night skipped yet. Sleeping time moves forward visually, which makes the skip feel more immersive than a sudden jump.
The mod is a datapack that extends Minecraft's sleeping mechanics for multiplayer servers, with options that can be customized. Server owners install it on the server, and the server is the only side that needs it. Installation is possible on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and files are published for 1.21 – 1.21.8 across nine release versions. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
The 2.2.2 build is the latest file for each loader, dated 2025-08-06, and the project was first published on 2024-08-21.
