Better pet armor
Better pet armor lets players enchant the armor worn by horses, wolves and nautilus, a set of mechanics that vanilla Minecraft reserves for creative mode.
What it does
The mod applies the existing vanilla enchantment system to pet armor. Horse armor, wolf armor and nautilus armor can be enchanted at an anvil, using the same enchantments a player would apply to regular gear. The list of enchantments available for horse, wolf and nautilus armor is set by the mod, and enchantments are added only through an anvil.
Horse armor can now be equipped on skeleton horses, which previously kept dying before a player could use their armor. A player holding horse armor equips it by right-clicking the horse, and sheers remove it again. Horse armor shows up in a skeleton horse's inventory but cannot be interacted with there. Because wolf armor and nautilus armor work differently in the game, some enchantments behave differently on them, and nautilus armor has no durability and so takes no durability enchantments.
The mod runs on the server alone, so players join without installing it. It is built for Fabric only, with one file for 26.2 released as 1.0.1 on 2026-07-23. The author notes plans for further updates, and says no versions are planned for other loaders. The code is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
