Beaconator
by TVTvirus
Beaconator is a Fabric client mod for planning beacon perimeters, showing where each beacon's real coverage volume leaves gaps in the pyramid area.
What it does
Beaconator works out where beacons go so that their effect areas cover the ground it is meant to cover. Dropping one beacon in the middle and scrolling to grow the grid lets the mod calculate the rest, and it draws exactly how much ground each beacon covers, keeping track of the ones already built. Nodes turn green as they are completed, and a live scan of the world marks the spots that are still missing a beacon, so the holes in a perimeter can be found on foot.
The mod is client required and server optional: the player who plans the build must run it, while a server can add the same jar so the whole team shares one plan. Beaconator needs Fabric API and is open source under the MIT License. Files are published for Fabric only, for 12 release versions 1.21 – 26.3, with 2.3.2+26.3 for 26.3 as the latest file.
Key features
Beacon perimeter planning
Left click drops a node of the plan, and right click marks the outside of the perimeter, so the layout takes shape in the world.
Real coverage volumes
Each beacon is drawn with the volume where vanilla applies its effects, 2r + 1 blocks wide and r blocks down, unbounded upwards.
Node sizes and block counts
The mod computes the block count for each layer of a node, with 1 to 5 beacons per node sharing one pyramid.
Live scan of the build
Nodes show their state as the build progresses, shading towards green as the pyramids are completed.

Use cases
Finding holes in a beacon field
A builder walks the perimeter of a beacon field and uses the scan to see which spots are not covered by any volume.
Shared server plans
A team on a server runs the same jar and works from one shared plan, so every member sees the same nodes and progress.
Who it’s for: Players building large beacon fields in survival or on a server, and team builders who need a shared plan for where each beacon goes.
How it compares
Bitop Perimeter is a Fabric mod for 26.2, client and server, under the MIT License, but it is not open source. MegaBeaconBeams is client-side only, open source under the MIT License, and covers Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21 – 26.2. In-Game NBTEdit Reborn is client and server, open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and spans Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.16.5 – 1.21.11, but it edits block data rather than planning beacons.
