Balanced Villagers
by Nhbybnb
Balanced Villagers locks each villager into the profession it first picks, so a villager can no longer switch jobs to reset its trades.
What it does
Once a villager chooses a workstation, it keeps that profession permanently. The mod stops job cycling, where a villager is pushed to a new workstation to reroll its offers. Trades stay consistent over time, which makes the economy easier to predict for players who trade regularly with the same villagers.
The mod is aimed at economy servers and trading halls, where consistency matters more than randomness. It is lightweight and meant to run without slowing a busy server. Balanced Villagers works alongside vanilla and most villager-related mods. It is a Fabric mod, and both the server and every player need it, since the environment is client and server. The mod is published for 1.20.1 and 1.21.11, and the code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved.
Key features
Locked professions
A villager that picks a workstation keeps that profession for good, even after the workstation is broken.
No job cycling
Villagers cannot be moved between workstations to reroll their trades, which ends last-second job hopping.
Predictable trades
Offers stay tied to the chosen profession, so a trading strategy built around one villager keeps working.
Lightweight design
The mod adds little overhead and is suited to busy multiplayer servers.

Use cases
Economy servers
Server owners who run a shared economy can keep villager offers stable across a long season.
Trading halls
Players who build a dedicated trading hall can plan around fixed professions instead of rerolled ones.
Who it’s for: Server owners and players who value consistent villager trades over randomness. Players who enjoy rerolling villagers for better offers may find the locked professions limiting.
