Awakened Evil is a Forge magic and adventure mod in which corruption spreads across the land and new monsters roam it, with tools, weapons and blocks to push back the darkness.

What it does

Corruption spreads through the world and new monsters roam the land, so players craft new tools and weapons to fight back. A flower can be given to a Cherub, a new passive mob, to obtain Purifying Essence. Purifying Essence leads to Corrupted Ore and Corrupted Iron Ore, and it can be used on corrupted blocks. Mote of Corruption is produced by essence and used to craft corrupted items such as Corrupted Chest and Corrupted Piston, while a Seed of Corruption planted on farmland spawns corrupted blocks.

The mod is a work in progress, and the author says more monsters, tools and blocks will come over time. It depends on Geckolib, which must be installed alongside it. Files exist for Forge only, across 8 release versions 1.18.1 – 1.20.4, with 1.069 for 1.20.4 as the latest file. It runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is published under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Magical ore glyph

    A glyph placed in the off-hand activates an ore search that lasts ten minutes and alerts the player when iron ore is near.

  2. Slipstring Corrupted Hopper

    A corrupted hopper acts like a pipe between containers, and it can be given a text filter so it only takes matching items such as logs.

  3. Corruption crafting chain

    Purifying Essence, Mote of Corruption and Seed of Corruption form the chain that leads to corrupted blocks and items.

  4. Cherub passive mob

    A flower given to a Cherub yields Purifying Essence, the starting material of the corruption crafting chain.
