Autototem
With Autototem installed, a totem held in the offhand is replaced automatically once the held totem pops.
What it does
When a totem of undying in the offhand is used up, the mod moves a replacement totem into that slot after about three ticks. The restocking only applies to the offhand, so totems in the hotbar or inventory are not moved. Autototem is a client-side only mod: the server needs nothing installed, and players on multiplayer servers run it alone.
The mod is published for Fabric only, for game versions 1.16.2 – 26.3 across 36 release versions. Its latest Fabric file is 1.1.0 for 26.3, dated 2026-09-02. Snapshot builds are published as well. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
Some servers treat automatic totem replacement as a bannable offense, so players should check server rules before use. Versions below 1.1.0 also sent the server a packet that announces the mod, and that packet could be used as an opt-out signal on servers.
Key features
Offhand totem restock
A totem held in the offhand is swapped for another one when the held totem is consumed.
Short replacement delay
The new totem is placed in the offhand about three ticks after the previous one pops.
Offhand-only scope
Only the offhand slot is refilled, so totems elsewhere in the inventory stay where they are.

Who it’s for: Players who use totems of undying in the offhand during combat, and who play on servers whose rules allow automatic item replacement.
