Arrow Entity Loot Drop
Arrow Entity Loot Drop makes mobs shot with arrows leave items behind when they die, with drop chances set in its config.
What it does
When an entity hit by an arrow dies, it can drop loot. By default a regular arrow is dropped in about half of these kills, and a quarter of the time the arrow breaks instead. Tipped arrows keep their potion type in the drop, and spectral arrows keep their effect as well. The chances are set in the config file and changing them takes effect on the next load.
The mod targets survival servers where players want kills by bow or crossbow to return ammunition. Because it only runs on the server, players connect without installing anything. Entity-arrow data is stored with the entity, and if the server restarts before an entity dies, that data is removed, so those arrows do not drop. Fabric API is required, and Cloth Config API and Mod Menu are optional. The code is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and files for 1.21.11 are published for Fabric with the latest release dated 2025-12-13.
Key features
Arrow drops on death
Entities killed after being shot with an arrow have a chance to drop that arrow as an item.
Breakage chance
A configurable share of drops are destroyed by the arrow breaking, 25 percent by default.
Tipped and spectral arrows
Arrows drop with their potion type or spectral effect preserved, so the loot keeps its original properties.
Editable probabilities
The drop and breakage chances are set in the config file, with defaults that can be changed.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Players and server owners on Fabric who want arrow-shot kills to return some ammunition. Because the mod runs only on the server, players join without installing it.
How it compares
Arrow Recovery is server required with client optional, open source under the MIT License and published for 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, so it is a related option for servers on those versions. Explosive Arrows / TNT Arrows is server-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for 1.19.4 – 1.21.10, and it changes what arrows do rather than returning them.
