Archery Revamped

by Lomin

Archery Revamped changes how bows and arrows behave, adding enchantments, specialised arrows and configurable projectile physics to Minecraft's ranged combat.

What it does

Arrows can bounce off solid blocks, and each bounce level allows one additional bounce, though arrows lose velocity after each bounce. Charging continues past the normal full draw, and an overcharged shot hits harder, with excessive overcharging able to damage the player or the bow. Damage also scales with the distance an arrow travels, rewarding accurate shots at range.

Further enchantments split an arrow into several, fire a rapid succession of arrows, or teleport the shooter to wherever an arrow lands. Specialised arrows push or pull nearby entities on impact, carry a rather unfriendly payload, or are built for aquatic combat. Bows, crossbows and dispensers all fire the mod's custom arrow entity while keeping vanilla projectile behaviour. The Quiver and Fletching Table gain updates as well.

The mod is client and server, so both the server and every player need it. It is open source under the MIT License and published for Fabric only, across eight game versions 1.20.1 – 26.3, with 1.6.5 for 26.3 as the latest file. Source code and an issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Bouncing arrows

Arrows bounce off solid blocks, with bounce levels that add bounces and reduce velocity after each one.

  2. Overcharged shots

Charging continues beyond full draw for a more forceful shot, with overcharging damaging the player or the bow when excessive.

  3. Distance-based damage

Arrows deal more damage the farther they travel, and accurate shots earn bonus damage.

  4. Specialised arrows

Split, rapid-fire, teleport, push, pull, payload and aquatic arrows add new combat options.
