A-peel-ing
by davigj
A-peel-ing puts banana peels into play: items that drop from bananas, chimps throwing peels and a slipping sound when a player steps on one.
What it does
Consuming a banana adds its peel to the player's inventory by default, and bananas stop being split into peels when a player only holds regular bananas. Hitting a banana peel entity lying on the ground also yields banana peel items. Peels left behind by crafting processes are set as a crafting remainder, and a configuration option lets peels appear only through the banana container item instead, which avoids doubled peels showing up in the inventory.
Chimps throw banana peel entities in a way similar to how Environmental's mud balls are thrown, and a dispenser ejects a peel as an entity rather than as an item. Peels add projectiles for Create's potato cannon. Banana peels are compostable. The mod needs Neapolitan and Blueprint, and Create is optional. Both sides must run it, and it is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Banana peel items
Peels are added as items that can be collected from bananas and from peel entities dropped on the ground.
Chimp throws
Chimps throw banana peel entities, placing peels in the world around the player.
Slipping sound
A slipping sound plays when a player steps on a banana peel; the sound was obtained with permission from the Peeled mod's author, Cody.
Crafting remainders and configuration
Peels can be set as a crafting remainder, and a leftover-peels option decides whether they appear in the inventory.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Players who want banana-themed content and modpack makers who want chimps, peels and slipping sounds together. Both client and server need the mod, and servers can tune peel behavior through configuration or KubeJS.

What the author says
This mod simply adds banana peels as items, which can be obtained by hitting banana peel entities on the ground. When ejected from a dispenser, they spawn the entity instead of the item. (Bananarrows are still ideal in cases that require projectiles with horizontal momentum.) Banana peels are compostable. By default…
