AnvilLib
by AnvilDev
AnvilLib is a NeoForge library that gives mod developers annotation-based configuration, networking, in-world recipes and Registrate-based registration.
What it does
Developers define configuration classes with the Config annotation, add explanatory comments with Comment, limit numeric values with BoundedDiscrete, and nest sections with CollapsibleObject. A client configuration GUI is generated automatically from those definitions, so the settings screen does not have to be built by hand.
The library is organized as modules. Integration classes are declared with the Integration annotation, and integration code loads automatically only when the target mod is present. Version range matching is supported, and each part can target the client, dedicated server or data generation runtimes. The anvillib-neoforge-1.21.1 aggregate artifact bundles and re-exports the modules.
Files are published for NeoForge only, across 13 release versions 1.21.1 – 26.1.2. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. AnvilLib is open source under the MIT License, and the Part Registrum module is a port of Registrate released under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
Key features
Annotation-based configuration
Config classes, Comment and BoundedDiscrete annotations define settings and their limits in code.
Nested configuration sections
CollapsibleObject creates nested sections, and the client configuration GUI is generated from them.
Package-based networking
A NeoForge networking abstraction registers packets automatically from their packages.
In-world recipes and piston-safe blocks
Recipes can run in the world instead of at a crafting table, and blocks with block entities keep their data when pushed by pistons.
Registrate-based registration
A registration system built on Registrate simplifies registering items, blocks, entities and other content.
