Ancient Elements
by h0lyseyhan
Ancient Elements adds about twenty ores on Forge, with the tools and weapons made from them, and needs Geckolib alongside.
What it does
The mod adds roughly twenty ore types and the ingots, equipment and tools made from them. Ores generate in several biomes and dimensions, and some appear only in certain biomes or at set heights. The ore progression works like the one in Terraria: a stronger material can only be dug out after a weaker one is in hand, which makes upgrading equipment slower than in vanilla Minecraft. Obtaining the strongest ores requires netherite first, and a weaker ore group needs netherite to be harvested.
Ancient Elements also adds a new family of tool and weapon types: hammers and drills. Hammers hit a three-by-three area and serve for both combat and digging, while drills break blocks quickly at a speed that depends on their material. Each family has its own textures and abilities. The mod adds a Mineral Compounder workstation, which fuses and refines resources into advanced alloys that vanilla recipes cannot produce, and many late-game tools and upgrades depend on it. Installation needs Geckolib, and the mod runs on client and server, so servers and every player need it. Files are published for Forge only, for 1.19.2 – 1.20.1, and the latest file is 1.4.5 for 1.20.1.
Key features
About twenty new ores
Ore types and their ingots, equipment and tools are added across biomes and dimensions, with some limited to particular heights.
Terraria-style progression
Each ore tier needs a stronger material to harvest, so better gear comes later in a run rather than being crafted at once.
Hammers and drills
Hammers break a three-by-three area and are strong in combat, while drills break fast and act on the block the player right-clicks.
Mineral Compounder workstation
A new station fuses and refines minerals, crystals and elemental materials into alloys that cannot be made in vanilla recipes.
Enchantments for hammers
Two new enchantments, Thunder Strike and Earthquake, apply specifically to hammers.
