Arrow In The Knee

by RazorPlay01

Arrow In The Knee makes arrows stick visibly in every living mob after they are shot, not only in players, as the Skyrim meme suggests.

What it does

In vanilla Minecraft only players show arrows embedded in their bodies after taking hits. The mod extends that same rendering to cows, zombies, skeletons and other living entities, so a shot creature carries the arrows that struck it. Arrows are placed at random across the model parts of each entity, following the logic the game already uses for players.

The mod targets Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files covering 10 release versions, 1.19.2 – 26.3. Fabric API is required on every loader. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the project publishes a source repository and an issue tracker. It needs no configuration, so installing it is enough to start seeing the effect in a world.

Because it only changes how arrows are drawn, it adds no items, blocks or mechanics. Players who want more changes to mob behavior or drops will need other mods alongside it.

Key features

  1. Arrows on living mobs

Every living mob displays arrows stuck in its body after being shot, matching what players already see.

  2. Vanilla-style placement

Arrows are positioned randomly across the model parts of each entity, using the same approach the game applies to players.

  3. No setup

The mod works after installation with no options to adjust, and it leaves the rest of the rendering pipeline unchanged.

  4. Lightweight rendering

The change is limited to drawing arrows on entities, so gameplay systems such as combat and drops are untouched.
