Advanced Tools
Advanced Tools generates tools and weapons from component parts, with the material of each part chosen from many different materials.
What it does
Players assemble tools, weapons and components from separate parts, and each material used brings its own stats and properties to the finished item. Materials from other mods are recognized automatically when they are added to the item tags, and the material types can be configured. Rod tool combinations are generated as well, which widens the set of possible builds considerably.
The mod requires Magma Core on both Forge and NeoForge. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Public links exist for the source code, issue tracker and wiki, but the code is under All rights reserved and is not open source. Builds are published for Forge and NeoForge across 26 release versions, 1.10.2 – 1.21.10.
Key features
Component-based tools
Tools, weapons and components are built from parts, so one design can be made from many different materials.
Material stats and effects
Each material carries its own stats and properties, and some add effects, such as radiation, that change how the item behaves.
Tooltips with stats
Holding shift over a tool shows the stats of its materials in a tooltip.
Recipe viewer support
JEI, REI and EMI integration lets players look up the recipes of the generated items.
Emissive textures
Emissive texture support lets glowing parts of the tool models stay lit in the dark.

Use cases
Modpacks with many materials
Pack builders can add materials from other mods, and the tools pick them up through item tags without extra setup.
Material-focused progression
Players can choose a material for each part, which turns tool crafting into a series of stat decisions.
Who it’s for: Players who want tools and weapons built from interchangeable parts, and modpack authors who combine materials from several mods. Server owners install it on both sides.
