Advanced Arsenal

by robinfrt

Advanced Arsenal is a Forge and NeoForge technology mod in which redstone powers equipment, repair and an upgraded suit playstyle, for players who want alternatives to vanilla tools and armor.

What it does

Redstone takes over much of the mod's gear: tools and armor are charged by redstone rather than relying only on vanilla materials. An Advanced Station machine consumes redstone to repair tools, so repairs cost no experience levels. Its base is a machine block built on a CC-licensed template, and some items use another CC-licensed base template.

Repair fuels are defined with item tags. Tier 1 fuel uses the same item as redstone dust and Tier 2 fuel the same as a redstone block. A redstone gauge on the station can be read by hoppers, which then emit a redstone signal matching how full the gauge is, so repairs can be automated. Some aspects of the mod are set in its configuration file, and JEI is required for recipes.

Installation is needed on client and server, so the server and every player must run the mod. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge for 1.20 – 1.21.1 and are released under All rights reserved, so the code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Redstone-powered equipment

Equipment draws its upgrades from redstone, creating a suit playstyle built around the mod's power system.

  2. Advanced Station repairs

The Advanced Station repairs tools by consuming redstone, so no experience is spent.

  3. Hopper-driven automation

Hoppers can read the station's redstone gauge and output a signal that reflects its fill level.

  4. Tiered repair fuels

Tier 1 and Tier 2 fuels reuse redstone dust and redstone blocks, defined through item tags that can be changed in the configuration file.
