AC-Drones

by qrmcat

AC-Drones lets players program small flying drones with Lua through the CC:Tweaked computer mod, so drones can pick up and carry blocks and items.

FabricClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 or laterOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21

What it does

Drones are powered by CC:Tweaked, so each one runs Lua programs on a computer. A drone can fly around a place, grab blocks such as chests with its claw while keeping their contents, and carry items or blocks to another spot. Downward-facing drones can vacuum up drops from the ground and move them into inventories.

Players can right-click a drone to ride it as a short flight, and sneak-right-click to open a menu with an internal screen, accessory slots and the drone's four-slot inventory. Attachments and accessories extend what a drone can do. Drones can keep their area loaded, which opens up long-range transport of items and blocks.

AC-Drones requires CC: Tweaked and Fabric API. It is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 or later and is open source. The mod is for 1.20.1 and 1.21 on Fabric only, with the latest file 1.21-alpha-7 for 1.21, published 2025-09-19 on the alpha channel. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Key features

  1. Programmable drones

Drones are controlled by CC:Tweaked computer programs written in Lua, letting players automate movement.

  2. Block and chest pickup

A drone claw grabs blocks such as chests and keeps their content intact while moving them.

  3. Vacuum mode

Drones set to point downward pick up drops from the ground and place them into inventories.

  4. Rideable drones

Right-clicking a drone starts a short ride, and sneak-right-clicking opens its menu with a four-slot inventory.

  5. Chunk-loading area

A drone can keep its surrounding area loaded, supporting long-distance transport between distant locations.
