JtC Abandoned Roads

by KebabDelicious

JtC Abandoned Roads generates abandoned roads and vehicles in the world, aimed at worlds that feel too natural and untouched.

NeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.21.4

What it does

The mod adds one brand new structure type that is placed randomly during world generation, so each abandoned road differs from the next. It targets non-medieval modpacks, such as infection, apocalyptic or modern worlds, where the default terrain can feel empty of human traces. The structure is spawned by a single biome tag that modpack makers can edit to decide which biomes receive it.

Structures are built from vanilla jigsaw blocks and use vanilla loot tables for their contents. The mod runs on NeoForge only, for 1.21.4, and it is needed on the client and the server. It is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Randomly placed roads

Each abandoned road is generated at random, so no two stretches look alike in a new world.

  2. Biome tag control

A single biome tag decides where the structures can spawn, letting modpack makers limit or widen the placement.

  3. Vanilla loot tables

Containers in the structures draw from vanilla loot tables, so the items follow familiar vanilla rules.

  4. Vehicles in the roads

Abandoned vehicles appear alongside the road pieces, filling the gaps that medieval-focused world generation leaves.

Use cases

Non-medieval modpacks

Modpacks set in modern or post-collapse settings can use the roads to add signs of past human activity to the landscape.

Who it’s for: Modpack makers who build infection, apocalyptic or modern worlds, and players who run those packs on NeoForge 1.21.4.

Questions

Does JtC Abandoned Roads need to be on the server?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Which loader and version does it support?

It is published for NeoForge only, and the only game version listed is 1.21.4.

Can a modpack control where the roads spawn?

Yes. A single biome tag decides which biomes receive the structures, so a modpack maker can edit it.
