Xp from Crops
by SirQuestalot
Xp from Crops makes harvested plants and some living things drop experience orbs, so farms reward the player with levels as well as food.
What it does
Sweet Berries, Glow Berries, cocoa beans, pumpkin and melon stems, and nether wart give experience once they are grown and gathered. Other living things give experience as well, which lets a farm built for food also feed the experience bar. Each grown crop drops its experience at the place it was harvested.
The mod runs only on the server, so players can join a server that runs it without installing anything. It is published for Forge and NeoForge across five game versions: 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3 and 1.21.4. The latest Forge file is 1.20.1 and the latest NeoForge file is 1.21.4, both dated 2025-05-25. The code is under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and the project is not open source.
Key features
Crop experience drops
Fully grown crops drop experience when harvested, so a working farm adds to the experience bar over time.
Berry and bean sources
Sweet Berries, Glow Berries and cocoa beans each give experience once they are grown and picked.
Stem and wart harvesting
Pumpkin and melon stems, along with nether wart, also yield experience when their crops are collected.
Living things as sources
Other living things can give experience too, so the mod extends beyond plants alone.

Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Survival farms
A player with a mature farm gains experience from the same harvest that supplies food, without a separate source.
Server economies
Server owners who want experience tied to farming can use the mod on a server without requiring players to install it.
Who it’s for: Players who want experience from farming and server owners who run survival or community worlds where crop harvesting is common. Because the mod is server-side only, it suits servers that want the feature without changing what each player installs.
How it compares
EverCrops is also server-side only and open source, released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, with files for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 on Forge and NeoForge. Replanting Crops is server-side only and covers Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.16.5 – 26.3, but it is not open source and is released as All rights reserved. GlowingDroppedCrops needs both client and server and is built for NeoForge 1.21.4 only.
