What it does

Wither Storm from 2017 brings content from the 2017 Bedrock Wither Storm add-on to Java Edition, built for Minecraft 1.20.1. It adds a dark Nether Star, a dark beacon and the crafting recipes for them, and it tries to keep the look of the early add-on intact. Released for Fabric and Forge, the files cover 1.20.1 and 26.1.2, with 1.0.0 as the latest file for each loader.

The mod is a tribute to the old Bedrock add-ons that many players remember from years ago. Its aim is to preserve part of that classic 2017 content in a modern Java world. The mod is lightweight and vanilla-friendly, and it can run on a client alone, a server alone or both. The code is not open source, and all rights are reserved by the author.

Key features

  1. Dark Nether Star

Adds a dark variant of the Nether Star modeled on the classic Bedrock add-on item.

  2. Dark Beacon

Adds a dark beacon block that follows the original add-on's look.

  3. Crafting recipes

Includes crafting recipes for the added items so they can be obtained in survival.

  4. Lightweight design

Keeps the added content small so it fits into existing vanilla-style worlds.
