WindCharge Reset
by Duuchniuk
WindCharge Reset is a Fabric mod that changes how a Wind Charge used while falling affects a player's momentum, aiming for controlled mid-air stops.
What it does
When a player uses a Wind Charge under themselves while falling, the mod applies a controlled velocity adjustment that reduces downward speed, so the fall can stop in mid-air instead of launching the player in the direction they are looking. The reset is inspired by the Minemen Wind Charge mechanic and works while the player is airborne and looking downward.
The mod is built around a single mechanic and is intended for PvP and movement play on servers. Its behavior, including the cooldown, strength, pitch angle and velocity, can be configured, and particles and sound effects are optional. Duchessentials is required, so it must be installed alongside WindCharge Reset.
The mod is published for Fabric only, with files for 1.21 – 26.2 across 16 release versions, and the latest Fabric file is 2.0 for 26.2. It is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
Key features
Mid-air momentum reset
A Wind Charge used under a falling player reduces downward momentum and can stop the fall mid-air.
Downward look detection
The reset triggers only when the player is airborne and looking downward, so normal Wind Charge use is unchanged.
Configurable behavior
Cooldown, strength, pitch angle and velocity handling can all be adjusted in the configuration.
Optional feedback
Particles and sound effects accompany the reset and can be turned off.
