Waypoints
by quillphen
Waypoints is a datapack that gives players a personal fast travel network, with teleports between saved points that can be set up through in-game dialogs and commands.
What it does
Players craft a Waypoint Rod from a Redstone and a Stick, then use it to save their current position as a waypoint. Each waypoint stores X, Y and Z coordinates and the dimension it belongs to, which can be the Overworld, the Nether or the End. A waypoint can carry a custom name, and when no name is given one is generated automatically. The teleport menu opens through the rod or the wp trigger, and lists the saved points for the player to choose from.
Server owners control how the system is used through settings for an XP cost per teleport, a cooldown between teleports and a maximum number of waypoints per player. The datapack also includes an admin configuration panel, a command that resets a specific player's saved waypoints, and a safe uninstall function. The server is required to run it, while a client may also have it installed, and the mod supports Minecraft Java 1.21.6 and later. Files target 1.21.6 – 1.21.11 and snapshot builds are published, released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only, so the code is not open source.

An XP cost per teleport, a teleport cooldown and a maximum number of waypoints per player can be adjusted by the server.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Survival players and server owners running Minecraft Java 1.21.6 or later who want a personal teleport network without extra mods on the client.
How it compares
Waypoint Block is for 1.21.6 – 26.2, server required and client optional, under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Dialog Teleport is open source under the GNU General Public License v2.0 only, covers 1.21.6 – 1.21.11 and is server required with client optional. Waylite is a client-side only Fabric mod for 1.21.9 – 26.3, so it changes nothing on the server.
