waterupgrade
by xlxyvergil
Waterupgrade adds a drinking upgrade to Sophisticated Backpacks, so a backpack can drink water-compatible items from its own stored inventory.
What it does
Once installed in a backpack, the upgrade consumes water-compatible items kept in that backpack to restore the player's thirst, with no manual step. It works through the Sophisticated Backpacks addon, and the two new items it introduces are the basic and advanced drinking upgrades. Only one upgrade of this type fits each backpack.
Players who run a thirst mod can use the upgrade alongside it. Waterupgrade needs at least one of the thirst mods Tough As Nails, Legendary Survival Overhaul or Homeostatic to function. Thirst Was Taken is also listed as an optional dependency. The mod is published for Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.
Key features
Automatic drinking
The backpack drinks stored water-compatible items as the player's thirst requires, without any extra action.

Thirst threshold setting
The advanced upgrade adds a thirst level threshold with moderate and full options, and a toggle for drinking immediately, even when hurt.
