Origins: Vesper

Origins: Vesper adds a bat-themed origin whose abilities centre on wings. A player with the origin cannot fly, but the primary ability lets them lunge forward, and each lunge is replenished from the ground or from any position while the player is active. How many lunges are available depends on the light level: 3 lunges at higher light, dropping to 2 in darkness and 1 in the dim band between. Wing Reflexes prevent fall damage, Air Affinity speeds up breaking blocks even when grounded, and Strong Grip lets the player sneak to hang on walls and ceilings.

The origin also changes sight and survival. The player can slightly see through dark water, and Fragile removes three hearts of health compared with humans. A bed works for the Place Like Home ability only at an altitude below sea level 64, which limits where sleeping is possible. Gift Depths is a separate ability listed in the origin's feature set. The mod needs Origins on every loader, and it runs on the server while clients may leave it out. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering 1.19 – 1.20.4 across eight release versions, and the code is licensed under the MIT License, so the mod is not open source.
