Variant Fletching Tables

by xanthian

Variant Fletching Tables adds new Fletching Table variants in wood types beyond the vanilla oak and birch planks, so each wood gets a matching table.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20 – 1.20.1

What it does

The mod adds a Fletching Table in new Plank wood types, and the vanilla Fletching Table is renamed and recoloured as a Birch variant to suit the Birch wood type. Un-crafting returns each variant to its vanilla table, and the textures are hand-made from hex colours so the planks look right. The files are compressed to keep the file size small.

The mod runs on Fabric for Minecraft 1.20 and 1.20.1, with files for both versions and 1.2.1 for 1.20.1 as the latest release, dated 2024-01-11. It is open source under the MIT License, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. Fletcher villagers still produce arrows at these tables.

Key features

  1. Wood-type Fletching Tables

Each new Plank wood type gets its own Fletching Table, so tables can match the surrounding build.

  2. Recoloured Birch table

The vanilla Fletching Table is renamed and recoloured to fit the Birch wood type more closely.

  3. Un-crafting to vanilla

Variant tables can be un-crafted back into the vanilla Fletching Table, which handles the case of mixed builds.

  4. Hand-made textures

The table textures were drawn with hex colours matched to each plank, then compressed to keep the file size small.

Use cases

Matching builds

Builders who use modded or non-oak woods can place a table that matches the planks around it.

Villager arrow trade

Fletcher villagers still work at the variant tables, so arrow trading in villages stays the same.

Who it’s for: Builders who want Fletching Tables in several wood types, and server owners who run a survival world with villages.
