Vanilla Excavators
by MelanX
Vanilla Excavators adds excavator tools that break a 3x3 block area at once, giving Forge players faster digging in dirt and sand.
What it does
The excavator tools break a 3x3 block area in one action, digging through dirt, sand and similar materials the way a shovel does. They are ported to Forge from a Fabric mod by Draylar and reuse its textures. Both client and server need the mod, and LibX and MoreVanillaLib must be installed alongside it. Forge builds cover 1.14.4 – 1.18.2, and the code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.
Key features
3x3 mining area
Excavator tools break a square of nine blocks in one action instead of a single block.
Shovel-style digging
The excavators work on dirt, sand and other soft materials, similar to how a shovel behaves.
Configurable options
MoreVanillaLib provides the config support, so the excavator settings can be adjusted in the config files.

What the author says
Porting information for 26.1 update ### 1.19+ was merged with Vanilla Hammers and is available as Simply Tools. Vanilla Hammers adds a few excavators to Minecraft 1.14+ which can mine a 3x3 area. The excavator is like a shovel, so you can mine dirt and sandy materials.
