Updating Icon Mod

by theEvil4582

Updating Icon Mod changes the World icon shown in the singleplayer world list so it refreshes each time a player enters a world.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.5 – 1.21.11

What it does

Each time a singleplayer world starts, the mod regenerates that world's icon from the current state of the save. The refresh runs when the server-started event fires, which the mod hooks through Fabric API, so no command or button is needed. Icons in the world selection list therefore stay in step with the last session played.

The mod only takes effect on the integrated server used by singleplayer worlds. The author marks it as singleplayer only, because nothing in it touches the dedicated server path. Multiplayer servers have no world icon to update, so the mod does nothing there, and the author describes it as compatible with everything within that scope.

Installation needs Fabric API. Updating Icon Mod is published for Fabric only, in 7 release versions 1.21.5 – 1.21.11, and the latest file, 1.0.11, targets 1.21.11. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the public source repository is the only linked resource.

Key features

  1. Automatic icon refresh

The world icon is regenerated when a singleplayer world starts, so the picture reflects the most recent session.

  2. Server-started hook

The refresh is triggered by the server-started event through Fabric API, with no manual step for the player.

  3. Singleplayer scope

Only the integrated server used by singleplayer worlds is affected, so multiplayer servers are left alone.

Who it’s for: Singleplayer players who want the world selection screen to show an up-to-date icon for each save, without changing anything else in the game.
