Unusual Prehistory

by peeko322131

Unusual Prehistory lets players revive prehistoric creatures and plants from fossils found across the world.

ForgeClient and serverCustom license1.20 – 1.20.2

What it does

Fossils generate in the world, and the type of stone they sit in sets their era: fossils in stone give Mesozoic material, while those in deepslate give Paleozoic material. Other fossil types are also found. An analyzer extracts DNA from a fossil, and a cultivator then uses that DNA, with organic ooze as fuel, to produce eggs, embryos or plants.

Every prehistoric creature and plant the mod adds has some use, from practical items to purely ambient decoration. The Encyclopedia of Prehistory, crafted from any fossil and a book, documents the creatures and the rest of the mod. The mod requires Geckolib, which must be installed alongside it. Files exist for Forge only, across 1.20 – 1.20.2, with 1.5.0.3 for 1.20.2 as the latest file, released under a custom license that is not open source. The author has stopped updating the mod in favor of its sequel, Unusual Prehistory 2.
