Similar Prehistory
With Similar Prehistory installed, players can find extra prehistoric creatures and structures that spawn in the world, as an addon to Unusual Prehistory.
What it does
Similar Prehistory is a Forge addon for Unusual Prehistory. It adds a set of prehistoric creatures and structures that generate in the world, and it expands the prehistoric fauna of the base game. Players who want the full list of creatures can consult the in-game encyclopedia for details on each one. Dinosaur spawning depends on Natural Prehistory Spawns, which is required to enable it, and Geckolib must also be present.
The mod adds trapped resin for Dakotaraptor and Oxalaia, and a renaming option for Sinosaurus Dennis that changes its special skin. Oxalaia can likewise be renamed to Sunset Snock for a different special skin. New creatures and structures are planned for future updates, and the project draws on other audiovisual media for its designs. Support for the first version of Unusual Prehistory was dropped as that mod was discontinued, so the addon now focuses on the newer Unusual Prehistory 2 while it continues to function on its own.
Similar Prehistory is licensed under the MIT License and is not open source. It is published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, with 2.1.1 as the latest file, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it.

How it compares
Peculiar Predators is a Forge mod for 1.20.1 that runs on client and server and is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Prehistoric Revival covers the same version and environment on Forge and is also under All rights reserved. Unusual Prehistory 2 targets Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 under a custom license, which is a wider range than the single 1.20.1 release of Similar Prehistory.
