ulib
by flusedev
ulib is a general purpose library for Fabric and Quilt that other mods can build on, offering code injection, reflection helpers and several data APIs.
What it does
The library bundles the tools that mod developers often write themselves: a code injection framework, dynamic library injection, reflection utilities, and APIs for JsonRPC v2, Yaml and Json data, the Mojang Launchermeta, and the Mojang and Bukkit mappings. Installing it alone changes nothing visible in play; it is there for other mods that call into it.
It works on either side of a connection: either side can run it, and neither needs it. The same jar also has a route to Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, Purpur, Velocity, BungeeCord and Waterfall servers, so a server can load it outside Fabric or Quilt.
Builds cover eight release versions 1.17 – 1.19.2, with the latest file for 1.19.2 on the alpha channel. The code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. Servers on older releases can add a cross-version compatibility tool such as ViaBackwards or ViaRewind if needed.
Key features
Code injection framework
Lets mods change the behavior of existing game code at runtime without replacing whole classes.
Dynamic library injection
Loads additional libraries into the running game so dependent mods do not each bundle their own copies.
Reflection utilities
Helper methods for reading and calling fields and methods that are otherwise hidden from normal code.
Data and API access
Built-in APIs for JsonRPC v2, Yaml and Json files, the Mojang Launchermeta, and the Mojang and Bukkit mappings.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Mod developers who want shared utilities for Fabric or Quilt projects, and server owners who need a library that other plugins or mods depend on.
How it compares
ulib is built for Fabric and Quilt and is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, with builds for 1.17 – 1.19.2. Annotated DI covers Fabric, Forge and Quilt across 1.14 – 1.21.11 and is open source under the Apache License 2.0. Fabric Yaml Configuration only targets Fabric for 1.20.1 – 1.21.10 and is not open source, under All rights reserved, so its scope differs from ulib's broader utility set.
