TT20 (TPS Fixer)
With TT20 installed on a server, ticks such as block breaking, eating, item pickup and portal travel are delayed when the server's TPS drops low, which reduces lag.
What it does
When the server's ticks per second fall low, TT20 changes how a set of game timers run. Block breaking, eating, item pickup, portal use, sleeping and potion effects can each be given a delay, and fluid spread speed can be adjusted. The aim is to lower the load on the server during heavy moments, rather than to change how the world plays at normal speed.
The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing anything. It is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 27 release versions, 1.12.2 – 26.3, and its latest files target 26.3 on Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt and 1.20.4 on Forge. The code is under a custom license and is not open source, though the source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Block break delay
Breaking blocks can be delayed while the server is under strain, spreading the work across more ticks.
Eating and potion delay
Eating food and applying potion effects can each be held back by a configurable delay.
Item pickup and portal delay
Picking up items and using portals can be slowed, so these actions do not spike the server together.
Block entity tick acceleration
An experimental option speeds up block entity ticks under load. It is off by default.

Use cases
Busy survival servers
A server with many players and machines can use the delays to keep ticks steady when TPS falls.
Modded servers with heavy worlds
Large modpacks with many entities and blocks give the timers more work to smooth out.
Who it’s for: Server owners who see low TPS during busy play and want to reduce the load without removing content. Players need nothing installed.
How it compares
TT20Forged is the Forge build of the same idea, server-side only, under a custom license for 1.20.1. Tick Tweaks covers Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.16.5 – 1.21.8 and is also server-side only, under All rights reserved. Tick Dynamic Continuation is open source under the MIT License, but it is a client and server mod for 1.12.2, so it is not a server-only option.
