Trial Towers
by digitalpear
Trial Towers spawns a tower above each Trial chamber, so players can spot the chamber from the surface without mining blindly.
What it does
Trial chambers are normally found by digging or by trading with villagers for their location. Trial Towers adds a tower built directly above each trial chamber, so the chamber's position shows on the surface. A player exploring the overworld can walk toward a tower and find the chamber below it reliably, instead of searching underground.
The tower's height varies at random, so towers do not all look alike. The mod runs on the server, and players who join that server do not need to install it. Installation also requires Fabric API on Fabric, and the mod can be added as a data pack on servers that do not use a mod loader.
Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with the latest build 1.2+mod for 1.21.10, released on 2025-01-31. Game versions cover 1.21 – 26.1.2 across 15 release versions, and the code is released under the Apache License 2.0; the project is not open source.
Key features
Surface indicator towers
A tower is generated above each trial chamber, marking its location from the surface.
Chamber location from above
Players find trial chambers by exploring the surface and following the towers, rather than mining or trading for coordinates.
Random tower height
Each tower's height is chosen at random, so the towers vary across the world.

How it compares
Towers of Chambers is a Fabric and NeoForge mod for 1.21 – 26.2 that runs on client and server, and its code is under All rights reserved. Too Many Trials covers Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for the same range, and only the server needs it, so players can join without installing it. Both are not open source, unlike the license situation of Trial Towers, which is also not open source under the Apache License 2.0.
