Shiney Totem!
by MrTokido
Shiney Totem! lights up the area around a player who holds a Totem of Undying, so dark caves and night exploration are easier to see while the totem stays in hand.
What it does
While a Totem of Undying is held in either hand, a dynamic glow spreads over the surrounding blocks. The light removes the darkness penalty that comes with carrying the totem, so a player can explore caves or travel at night without putting the safety item away. Only the hand that holds the totem, or the offhand, produces the glow, and the light is not shown on dropped items.
The mod is a small quality-of-life change for survival worlds. It is lightweight and has configuration options, and it keeps the vanilla look of the game, since it only adds light around the player. It runs on Fabric for Minecraft 26.2 and affects only the client: a server does not need it, and players who join without it see no difference in gameplay.
Key features
Glow while holding a totem
A dynamic light appears around the player whenever a Totem of Undying is held.
Works in either hand
The glow is produced when the totem is in the main hand or the offhand.
Dropped totems stay dark
A totem lying on the ground or shown as a dropped item does not emit the glow.
Configurable and lightweight
Options adjust the mod's behavior, and the light adds little overhead to the game.

Use cases
Night exploration
Players travel after dark while keeping the totem in hand as a safety net against death.
Cave runs
Underground expeditions get light around the player without removing the totem from the inventory.
Who it’s for: Players who run hard survival or challenge playthroughs and want to keep a totem of undying in hand without losing visibility. Server owners can leave it out, since only the client applies the light.
