Torridium
Torridium turns fire into a gameplay system: torches, campfires and furnaces can ignite nearby wood, and a flammable world can spread flames over time.
What it does
Placing a torch directly against wooden planks gives the planks a chance to catch fire, and a wall-mounted torch is riskier under a wooden ceiling than on a floor. Campfires throw embers that can ignite flammable blocks some distance away, and a fire that runs out of fuel grows more aggressive just before it burns out, with a higher ignition chance on its last attempt to spread. Vanilla villages and mansions, which contain many torches and wooden blocks, are naturally vulnerable to this.
Furnace-style heating also works on blocks placed in the open: cobblestone becomes stone, sand fuses into glass, clay hardens into terracotta, and stone bricks crumble. Farmland dries out when placed too close to fire, and TNT can detonate. Rain normally has a chance to extinguish fire, but a flashpoint fire ignores rain entirely, and a wildfire that grows large enough triggers rain rolls that can stop it. The mod is built for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 26.2 and 26.3, and it runs on client and server, so both sides need it.
Key features
Ignition from torches and fire
Torches, campfires and furnaces can set nearby flammable blocks alight, with the chance rising the closer the block is.
Ember spread from campfires
Campfires shoot embers that land on flammable blocks and can ignite them at a distance.
Heat-based block baking
Cobblestone, sand, clay and similar blocks change form when heated, with lava-fed furnaces burning hotter than wood-fuelled ones.
Global and local fire events
A global drought and a local flashpoint heat storm can be started with a command and cancelled when needed.
Per-world gamerules
Core mechanics are set as gamerules in each world, and block multipliers are adjusted in a config file.

What the author says
Torches, campfires, furnaces, and fire threaten every flammable block nearby: the closer a block is to the source, the higher the chance it catches fire, so placing a torch directly onto wooden planks or under a wooden ceiling is now a real hazard, and a wall-mounted torch is riskier than a floor one.
