Torch Optimizer
by kreezxil
Torch Optimizer is a Forge utility that draws light level numbers on the ground so players can decide where to place torches.
What it does
Torch Optimizer shows numbers on the ground that indicate the light intensity at each block, so a player can see where a torch or another light source is needed to reach the maximum light level. A default optimal placement indicator is set for torches, and the mob spawning blockage area is also displayed. Light sources are adjusted for their own light output, and the position is controlled with square brackets.
The overlay can be changed while playing. A GUI config option enables the optimizer and sets the placement ground position, and placement values run from 0 to 15. The comma and period keys move the optimal torch position up or down by one, and the left bracket moves it by one as well. The mod is open source under the MIT License and is a derivative work based on Light Level Overlay Reloaded, which is licensed under the 3-clause BSD license.
