TooEasy: PlayerRPGUpdate

by medilmods

Players who find vanilla combat too gentle can use TooEasy: PlayerRPGUpdate, a NeoForge mod that levels up mobs and adds an attribute shop for the player.

NeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.21.1

What it does

Mobs gain levels and buffs that ramp up difficulty as the game goes on, so the challenge grows with the player. Each mob carries a tier from Common to Chaos, and the tier sets its drops and experience multiplier. Common mobs drop at 1.5x until level 30, Uncommon at 2.5x until level 60, Rare at 4.0x until level 90, Epic at 6.5x until level 120, and Chaos at 9x until level 150. The maximum level is 150.

The player spends in-game currency on attribute boosters, such as attack damage and armor, and chooses a mode that sets how hard the leveling pushes back. Dying costs the player some system progress and attribute boosters, so the progression has a real penalty. Iron golems and wolves are protected from level changes to keep the game balance stable. The mod is for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1 and runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Leveled mobs

Mobs receive levels and buffs that scale difficulty, rising with the level of each creature.

  2. Attribute boosters

Players buy attack damage and armor boosters that persist across the progression system.

  3. Difficulty modes

Three selectable modes set how strongly the leveling system pushes back against the player.

  4. Death penalty

Dying resets part of the player's system progress and attribute boosters, adding a cost to failure.

  5. Tiered drops

Five mob tiers, from Common to Chaos, multiply drops and experience, with a 9x multiplier at the top tier.

Questions

Does TooEasy: PlayerRPGUpdate need a loader other than NeoForge?

No. The mod is published only for NeoForge, with the latest file 2.0.0 for 1.21.1.

What happens to player progress when the player dies?

Dying loses some system progress and attribute boosters, so the death penalty is part of the leveling system.
