TooBee Optimization
by Fungus-00
TooBee Optimization is a Fabric server-side mod that reduces the calculation cost of stacked mobs, with the mob count of thousands of entities in one spot kept in check.
What it does
When many mobs of the same type occupy one block position, the mod caches the result of the full calculation for one mob and reuses it for the others stacked on that position. The author states the aim is to lower the time complexity of these calculations, from roughly O(n^2 log n) toward O(n). In the author's test, a case with 3000 wardens had its MSPT cut by more than 700, down to less than 15.
The changes target despawn conditions for monsters, mobs that hold common items and never despawn, and mobs counted against the spawn cap, which can grow endlessly on pseudo-peace farms and bartering farms. Most modifications are described as thread safe. Behavior shifts slightly for stacked mobs, which the author considers hardly noticeable to most players. Lithium is required, and the mod is published for 26.1.2 only, with 0.1.2 as the latest file.
The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, with public source code and an issue tracker. It is a dedicated server mod, and the author notes it is in early development and is updated only for the newest Minecraft version.
Key features
Stacked mob caching
Results for mobs sharing one block position are computed once and reused, which cuts repeated work on dense stacks.
Lower calculation cost
The work for large stacks is reduced toward linear time, which the author reports cut MSPT sharply in a warden test.
Spawn cap correction
Mobs that pick up items and remain alive are accounted for so the population does not grow without limit on farms.
Despawn handling
Monsters that hold common items without components still despawn under the mod's conditions, while an enderman holding listed items does too.
