What it does

Lithium rewrites parts of the game's internal systems, including physics, mob AI and block ticking, with the strict goal of leaving every vanilla mechanic as it is. That goal is what makes it usable on most servers, including technical ones where exact behavior matters.

Either side can run it alone, and neither needs the other to have it: a server can use it without players installing it, and players can use it in single-player, where it speeds up the built-in server that ticks the world. Lithium is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, with Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt files across 38 release versions, 1.16.2 – 26.3.
