TNT Time
by shateq
TNT Time shows a countdown above each primed TNT block, so players can see how long remains before it explodes.
What it does
Once TNT is lit, the mod displays the time left until the explosion. The countdown can be drawn directly above the primed TNT entity, or shown as text in chat. A configuration option switches the display text between a colored and a plain, non-colored style, which suits players who prefer a quieter chat window.
The mod is described by its author as a lightweight client mod with a fairly detailed configuration. It began as a legacy project updated for a newer Minecraft release, and it was made to fill a gap the author could not find in existing mods. The author tested it for more than a week before publishing. The code is based on earlier work and is not a personal implementation from scratch.
TNT Time is a Fabric mod, released under the MIT License and open source. It needs no Fabric API. Files exist for 1.17.1 – 1.20.1, and the latest build, mc1.3.0, targets 1.20.1. Only the client needs it, so players install it and servers can run without it.
Key features
Primed TNT countdown
A timer is drawn above each primed TNT block, showing how long until it detonates.
Chat countdown text
The time left can also be printed in chat, with the color of the text set by the configuration.
Colored or plain display
The display text can switch between a colored style and a non-colored style through a single option.
Detailed configuration
The mod offers a fairly complex configuration, letting players adjust how and where the countdown appears.

Use cases
Timing TNT jumps
Players who use TNT to launch themselves can read the countdown to plan a jump before the blast goes off.
Chain explosions
In a chain of primed TNT, the countdown above each block shows when the next one will fire.
Who it’s for: Players who build with or set off TNT in single-player or multiplayer games, and who want to read the remaining fuse time without guessing.
How it compares
TNT Tweak is open source under the Apache License 2.0, runs on servers alone and is published for 1.20.4 only. Netherite TNT Drops is not open source under the MIT License, runs on servers alone and covers 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, so it changes drops rather than showing a timer. No Fabric API is needed for TNT Time, which is client-side only.

What the author says
Displays time left to the TNT explosion above primed TNT. No complex configuration, lightweight mod that does a thing! Fabric API isn't required here. Simply no dependencies. Known incopatibilities may be the ones that modify Minecraft's FontRenderer, EntityRenderer or DataTracker in harmful ways.
