tkChat
by tkkr
tkChat is a server-side chat system for Fabric and Forge servers that keeps chat, direct messages and group conversations working across several linked servers.
What it does
Server owners who run more than one world can route chat between them. tkChat handles chat that stays on one server, global chat that spans every linked server, direct messages to players on other servers and group conversations that include players from several servers. Channel and command access can be set finely, and the mod supports MiniMessage formatting and a set of built-in placeholders for player names and similar values.
The mod is built for networks that sit behind a proxy. It works with Velocity as the proxy and with Paper, Purpur and Velocity as server platforms, and it integrates with a mute plugin so that mutes apply to the cross-server channels as well. Because it runs on the server alone, players join without installing anything.
Installation requires Fabric API, FabricProxy-Lite, Proxy Compatible Forge and SignedVelocity. The mod is published for Fabric and Forge across 23 release versions, 1.20 – 26.3, and is released under the MIT License, so its source code is open source and public.
Key features
Channel-scoped chat
A channel can be limited to the current server, so each world keeps its own conversation.
Network-wide broadcast
A global channel carries messages to every linked server in the network at once.
Private messages across worlds
Players can send private messages to someone on another server in the same network.
Group conversations across worlds
Group chats can include players from several servers in a single conversation.
MiniMessage and placeholders
Message formats accept MiniMessage tags, and built-in placeholders insert player and server values into them.
