Tiny Takeover Backport

by evanbones

Tiny Takeover Backport brings the mob features of the official Tiny Takeover 26.1 drop back to Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, letting players keep baby mobs small for good.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

The backport covers the updated models, textures, properties and baby variants from the official drop. The updated adult rabbit model comes with a new hitbox. A baby mob that a player right-clicks with a Golden Dandelion has its age and growth locked, so it remains small permanently; the dandelion itself is made by ringing a regular dandelion with gold nuggets. Flower pots are crafted with suspicious stew, and piglins use them in trading. Players craft the other new items from nugget paper.

The content is keyed to minecraft:golden_dandelion and similar namespaces, so worlds keep working when they move to Minecraft 26.1 and later. The mod is open source under the MIT License and needs YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) on every loader, which provides the in-game config screen. Installation is required on the client and the server. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with 1.6.3 as the latest release, for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1.

Key features

  1. Baby mobs that stay small

Right-clicking a baby mob with a golden dandelion locks its age and growth, keeping it tiny indefinitely.

  2. Updated rabbit model

The adult rabbit receives the updated model from the official drop, together with a new hitbox.

  3. Trading with suspicious stew

Flower pots can be crafted with suspicious stew, and piglins accept them in trades.

  4. Quark config option

A config option disables the variant animal textures added by Quark, for setups that run both mods.

Use cases

Keeping babies small

Players who want animals to remain as babies use a golden dandelion on them instead of waiting for them to grow.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who want the Tiny Takeover mob content on 1.20.1 or 1.21.1 without updating to the newer game version.

How it compares

Full comparison

Vanilla Backport is a companion that adds backported warm and cold mob variants, and it loads alongside this mod. Golden Dandelion Backport from another author is MIT licensed and open source, but supports Fabric and Quilt only for 1.20 – 1.21.11. Creeper Babies is for 26.2 only and is not open source.

Questions

Does Tiny Takeover Backport need YetAnotherConfigLib?

Yes. YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) is required on every loader, and it powers the in-game config screen.

Does the server need the mod?

Yes. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod.

Does the mod work with Quark?

Yes. A Quark-related config option disables the variant animal textures, which avoids conflicts when both mods are installed.
