Timer HUD
by Bopbop Mods
A red counter in the bottom-right corner of the display keeps track of elapsed play time for the current world or server session.
What it does
The overlay counts elapsed play time and draws it in the lower-right corner of the game window. The display was inspired by the timers used in the Grian, Scar and Joel hardcore series, where a visible clock tracks each run. The counter is meant for runs in a certain world or on a certain server, so the same save can be timed across sessions.
The mod is client-side only, so a server does not need to install it and players join without it. It requires Fabric API and is published for Fabric on 1.20.1, with the single file 0.1-a dated 2024-01-03 on the alpha channel. The author notes that an updated Playtimer build for 1.20.1 still had problems keeping the timer in sync each time a world was reopened, which is one reason this mod was written.
Setup is a configuration step: the jar goes into the mods folder, and the timer appears once the game starts. The source code and issue tracker are public under the MIT License, so the code is open source. The author plans a Forge version but none is published yet.
Key features
Corner play-time display
The bottom-right corner of the screen carries a red clock that tracks how long the present session has been running.
Per-world timing
The counter is intended for a chosen world or server, so a run can be followed across several sessions.
Timer resync
The timer is meant to stay in sync when the player returns to a world after closing Minecraft.
Open source code
The source and issue tracker are public, and the author invites contributions.

Use cases
Timed challenge runs
Hardcore and speedrun-style playthroughs that need a visible clock on screen.
Server challenges
Events on a specific server where players track how long they have been playing.
Who it’s for: Players who run timed challenges in a single world or on one server and want a clock visible at all times. Installing it needs only the client, so it suits solo players and anyone joining a server that does not run it.
How it compares
Playtimer is also a Fabric client-side timer under the MIT License, but its catalog file targets 1.18.1 rather than 1.20.1. Bibu's Real Time HUD is a client-side Fabric HUD under the MIT License whose files cover 26.2, and it is not open source in the catalog's data. Each alternative has its own version and loader line, so the choice depends on the game version in use.
