Time in a bottle

by MangoRage

This utility mod speeds up ticking blocks such as furnaces, crops and brewing stands, using time stored in a bottle item.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.6 – 26.3

What it does

Players first obtain a bottle item that passively collects time while it is held. Once the stored time has increased, a right click on a tickable block applies a speed boost, and a shift right click works for blocks like furnaces. Each click doubles the applied speed and lasts 30 seconds, so a x2 boost costs 30 seconds of stored time, x4 costs 30 seconds, x8 costs 60 seconds, x16 costs 120 seconds, x32 costs 240 seconds and x64 costs 480 seconds.

An admin command adds or removes time from a bottle, which suits server owners managing a shared world. Server settings are kept in a configuration file under serverconfig, named tiab-server.toml. The mod requires Fabric API on Fabric, is released under the MIT License as open source, and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.6 – 26.3.

Key features

  1. Block acceleration

Right clicking a tickable block such as a furnace, crop or brewing stand applies the stored speed boost to it.

  2. Passive time collection

The bottle gathers time over the course of play, so speed boosts are paid for by time already earned.

  3. Admin command

A single command adds or removes time from a bottle, letting operators adjust stored time directly.

  4. Doubling boost levels

Each click doubles the applied speed, from x2 up to x64, with the cost of each level growing as the multiplier rises.
