Time Feeds: Villager

by Viola-Siemens

Time Feeds: Villager changes how villagers age, feed and trade, adding a hunger cycle, configurable lifespans and a set of behavior modes for each villager.

What it does

Villagers in this mod can grow old and die, and they have to eat to avoid it. Ten minutes of real time after reaching adulthood, a villager enters a hungry state and actively searches for food. A hungry villager cannot be traded with, and players cannot trade with a villager that has entered that state. Villagers take food directly from their hands, which replaces the original breeding mechanism for food.

Players can set a villager to a work mode, a stay mode or a mode that keeps it at its spot, so it never tries to work or go to meetings. Crouching and right-clicking a villager opens an extra inventory of eight slots, where items can be placed and taken. A hungry villager first tries to consume items from that inventory before it looks elsewhere. The mod also offers more villager skins, set through a UI and added by resource packs. Its requirement list names the skin resource pack as recommended, and the default skin stays the vanilla one. The mod is published for Forge only, on 1.20 and 1.20.1, with 1.0.1 for 1.20.1 as the latest file.

Key features

  1. Hunger cycle

Villagers enter a hungry state ten minutes after becoming adults and search for food, and that state can be set in the config.

  2. Lifespan limit

Adult villagers die two hours of real time after growing up, unless a golden apple is given to them first.

  3. Behavior modes

Players switch a villager between work, stay and other modes, and a staying villager never goes to work or meetings.

  4. Extra inventory

Crouching and right-clicking a villager opens an eight-slot inventory that hungry villagers draw food from first.

  5. Villager skins

Additional skins are chosen in a UI and loaded from resource packs, and the default skin is the vanilla one.
