Players who want a gem system with effects held in the offhand can add The Bliss SMP, a magic mod with five gems and their crafting and mining methods.

What it does

The Bliss SMP adds a set of gems. Each gem is held in the offhand, and while it sits in the first slot it grants a timed effect. The Wealth Gem gives emeralds when a player clicks a villager in a hero of the village state, the Speed Gem grants speed and turns a hit entity's slowness against it, and the Puff Gem gives jump boost and removes fall damage.

Gems come from the Gem Ore, which generates between y -128 and y 0, and from the Gem Crafter, where nine gems are combined. Breaking a block with a gem picks it up. The Life Gem gives regeneration and makes the holder immune to wither, the Fire Gem gives fire resistance and summons fireballs on right click, and the Flux Gem blocks slowness, hunger and weakness.

The Bliss SMP runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 and 1.21.8, and it is needed on client and server. The code is All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Its issue tracker is public.
